A wedding Photographers Guide
Today our blog and small guide features Beccy & Liam's Wedding,
Venue: Manor Mews, Norfolk
We love to go a journey with our couples from that initial enquiry, to the big day itself and beyond until we deliver their photographs.
Beccy and Liam were no different. As with most couples COVID had an impact on their day with their wedding being postponed for a year but we're sure that delay made their day even sweeter!
Having met Beccy and Liam for their pre-wedding shoot we felt as like we knew them and what they wanted. We include a pre-wedding or anniversary shoot in all our packages and always meet or have a zoom call with all our couples, so we know the day they want!
What a fantastic day we had with them. Lots of love and laughter throughout the day.
A quick guide to the venue!
Manor Mews is part of Unique Norfolk venues. It features the Great Barn which has been lovingly converted. It can host your ceremony and your reception. It also features accommodation for the couple and their guests, so everything is self contained on site. A big thank-you to Hannah and her team for ensuring the day ran smoothly.
Before we met Beccy in her bridal room they had hired our family run sweet cart business so we popped this up ready to satisfy those sweet teeth!
Bridal Prep.
With most of our couples we begin the day with Bridal prep. Our aim is to tell the story of the day, in pictures, from the preparations to the first dance as a married couple. Bridal prep is about the bride (and her bridesmaids) relaxing, reflecting and occasionally panicking BUT always good fun!
Beccy and Liam are from Newcastle but choose Manor Mews in Norfolk because they had family in the County. Because Manor Mews offers on site accommodation everyone could stay on site - no need for hotels or calling taxis late at night! It also meant as the groom and groomsmen were staying at the venue we were able to get some groom's prep as well!
Ceremony
The ceremony and reception were all held at Manor Mews. It was a fabulously sunny day, something which is never guaranteed, even at the height of summer (this is Britain after all). As Beccy's Mum said to us later "what a wonderful day it was".
The ceremony was conducted by Norfolk Registrars. Cue the couple's dog "bear" who was the ring bearer - doesn't he look cute? Would you trust your pet with the rings?
After the ceremony
Afterwards drinks and canopies were served. While their guests were having a drink Beccy and Liam had some "couple shots" with us. We always give couples the opportunity to have 15/20 minutes on their own with us. It allows them to let everything sink in and we have some fun - we make sure there is natural laughter and smiles in our pictures!
Beccy and Liam had another drink and then we had pictures of various family groups which the couple had chosen, followed by some informal shots.
We love capturing these natural laughs using our 'unposed prompts'
The Wedding Breakfast!
A cracking 3 course meal was served, our lovely couple provided us a meal too so we got to sample the lovely chicken and gravy with a brownie for dessert!
Speeches followed with the brides dad up first, with speeches from the groom and of course the best man!
The Evening
After that the cake was cut, first dance and then the party really got started!
Our couple had hired our Glitter booth Pod with glitter background - always a hit when the guests have had a few drinks!
We hope our images have helped inspire you. If you are looking for photographers who always provide 2 shooters on the day, who will get to know you and what you want for your day, and to accompany you on your wedding journey why not get in touch - info@awakenimages.co.uk.
If you're contacting the venue, don't forget to tell them where you saw it.
