We are a family business, primarily run as father and son. We also have Rachel (daughter/sister) who we use when you want to book a third photographer or in the rare event we're ill, so you can rest assured you always get 2 photographers.
Our main passion is weddings and people! We love the interaction we have with our clients and will tailor our service to suit you, in that way we endeavour to ensure our images portray your personality.
We are not just wedding photographers, during the week when weddings are less popular we get out and about with our drone, usually helping out estate agents selling houses with aerial shots, along with various other projects in both photography and video!

Matt
Hi I'm Matt and I've been a professional photographer for Over 15 years, starting Awaken Images in 2009!
As a kid I loved going out and taking photos but I first took photography seriously when I had the opportunity to go to South Africa to race cars and go on a safari.
After purchasing my first DSLR I soon became interested in photographing people which taught me a whole new skill set which eventually developed into my love for photographing weddings!
My favourite parts of wedding photography are capturing those candid shots! I love my zoom lens, getting those 'sniper' shots of people laughing.
And my favourite time is golden hour. Getting you both out during the sunset and capturing those magical photos!
Outside of weddings I'm very active and go to the gym a lot! I have a labradoodle called Jessie who thinks she is one giant lap dog!
I also love planning travel photography trips to gain stock images and to enjoy a mini holiday!
I got married to my now wife Catherine in December 2023, so I finally have an idea of how being on the other side of the camera is during a wedding!

Hi I'm John
I have always loved photography since I was 19, a long time ago, when I first got my first Fuji film SLR camera.
Many years ago I worked for a professional studio as a wedding photographer but soon found out that most of my clients were friends or people who came to me through word of mouth or recommendations and I didn't need a studio to get wedding assignments, but I'm always grateful for the experience it gave me.
Then, as so often happens in life, I had a family and another career to pursue, but now I have returned to pursue what has always been a passion for me; photography.
I'm really pleased to be helping Matt in making his career as a professional photographer.
Away from the camera I enjoy travel, cooking and keeping up with current affairs, oh and walking our other labradoodle (Jessie's daughter) Lexi!

Hi, I'm Rachel
And I'm the sister/daughter of Matt & John
Growing up I loved going out and taking photos so my parents bought me a film camera to get me started on my many years as a hobby photographer.
About three to four years ago I started helping my brother out in his photography business. I soon became interested in photographing a lot more than just the occasional snaps of holidays and family events that I had been doing.
I then took my first photography trip to Iceland with Matt a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed exploring and taking photos of waterfalls, mountains, lighthouses and swimming in the blue lagoon.
After that I began to help my brother to gain more experience and began studying photography courses. This taught me a whole new skill set of photographing people.
I'm a romantic person at heart so this then developed into my love for photographing weddings!

Hi, I'm Catherine
And I'm the wife of Matt.
I grew up in the Philippines and immigrated to the UK when I met Matt.
With the Philippine culture, social media is massive so I had been doing blogs and content.
I love to travel and love creating videos and vlogs on my trips. So I now post multiple times a week to an audience back home.
Since being in the UK I've been fortunate enough to carry this passion on and integrate content creation with Matt's business and offer it to all the wonderful brides and grooms!
I love capturing behind the scenes and capturing all the bits that make your special day.
